WILLOW PLACE TOWNHOUSE

SECOND FLOOR:  STUDY

This new study was designed to be both elegant and functional. The shelves, cabinetry, desk and panelling were carefully detailed to evoke the grandeur of the finest traditional homes in the neighborhood, while the Australian walnut was chosen in homage to the owners' homeland. The fireplace was restored and a new mantel was designed after historic English patterns. Traditional light fixtures were selected to complete the comfortable "period" character of this room.

Mouse over the adjacent snap shots to see the transformation from the previously unadorned "extra" room populated by "dormitory style" furniture. Note that the original fireplace had been stripped and reduced to an awkward and mysterious obstacle, while the exposed radiator sat under the window collecting dust.
