MONROE PLACE TOWNHOUSE

TYPICAL BEDROOM:  SUBTLE IMPROVEMENTS

The understated improvements at this bedroom were typical at all four bedrooms in the house: the antiquated recessed lighting was replaced with new low-voltage fixtures, air conditioning outlets were provided in every room and crown molding was added where it had previously been omitted such that the new work looks like it has always been there. To achieve these results, ceilings were lowered over ancillary spaces such as hallways, bathrooms or closets to provide space for the air conditioning equipment. This approach preserves the original ceiling height in all the large rooms.
